Designed by Mitchell/Giurgola, the 105,000-square-foot renovation of Public School 56 in Staten Island was completed by Navillus in just five months. The project utilized 60,000 square feet of glazed block partitions, 72,000 square feet of brickwork, and 160,000 square feet of block work, delivering distinctive features such as a curved brick façade and multicolored glazed block interiors. Following the successful delivery of this prototype school, Navillus was selected to construct the identical P.S. 6 in Staten Island.
