Navillus continues to expand workforce and celebrate employee longevity in spite of pandemic
Company Starts the Year off with Several New Hires and Workplace Anniversaries
New York, New York (February 26, 2021) – Navillus Contracting, one of New York’s industry-leading construction firms, added 17 new staff members to its office employee roster since the start of the COVID pandemic in early 2020 and this year is also commemorating the tenure of several of its valued employees who have been with Navillus for five and ten years. Navillus is proud of its ability to grow its workforce over the last 14 months despite the economic downturn and historic national unemployment rates caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since the company was founded over 30 years ago, Navillus has grown exponentially. What began as a three-member team has flourished to become a vital New York City employer of over 1,000 trade and other professionals from Manhattan and its surrounding boroughs. In addition to welcoming 16 new staff members, Navillus congratulates those employees who’ve recently passed their five- and 10-year milestones and values their continued loyalty and service to the company.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, New York State’s December 2020 unemployment rate was 8.2 percent, down from its historic high of 15.9 percent in July of 2020, yet more than double that of its historic low rate of 3.7 percent at the start of 2020. The construction industry in New York City was heavily impacted during the first half of the year as nonessential construction projects were halted amid the coronavirus outbreak.
