Located in the Bronx, PS 347X is a 52,000 sqft new construction. The New York City School Construction Authority is responsible for the construction management and Mitchell Giurgola Architects for the dynamic design. The project consists of three phases. Phase 1 includes construction of the new annex building, a 5-storey concrete superstructure, rainscreen cladding exterior envelope, aluminum windows and storefronts, new HVAC systems with four new RTUs, and two new elevators. New standalone services, gas, electric, sewer and water services. Fire alarm, intrusion alarm and fire protection systems will be installed. In Phase 2, the existing adjacent annex building will be demolished and the construction of the New Playground Area is included in Phase 3.
